2014 Syrian crisis

From 2014 to 2022, a staggering 1,110,309 individuals were compelled to flee Syria, their homeland, in search of refuge in Greece. Tragically, during this perilous journey, 2,104 souls were lost, including numerous innocent children who perished in the unforgiving embrace of the Aegean Sea. Among those who survived, countless are orphaned children who have endured unimaginable hardship and suffering in the wake of conflict – stark reminders of the human cost of war.
